Marina Firth holds a BSc in Psychology from Dalhousie University (2020) and is currently completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University (2023). She is a registered student member of the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Marina has spent the last two years working with the Veteran population, and understands the unique challenges associated with stress and trauma. She is familiar with military culture, and the specific problems that Veterans and their families face. She works from a trauma-informed lens, helping clients to understand and utilize tools to support self and others during times of stress. Her passions include working with anxiety, depression, trauma and other mental health difficulties. She grounds her practice in psychotherapeutic modalities such as narrative therapy, emotion-focused, client-centered and acceptance and commitment therapy. She believes in an overall collaborative, strength-based approach to create goals toward a clients optimal well-being.
