Jillian brings over 20 years of progressive leadership and human resource experience in various sectors, including municipal, not-for-profit, family-owned business, private, partnerships, and 10 years dedicated to serving various levels of government.

Jillian has a broad range of human resource management expertise in organizational design and development, policy review and development, executive recruitment, job evaluation, workforce planning, workplace culture, payroll legislation and compensation, coaching, change management, and performance management, all in the interests of creating inspired workplaces. She is known for her way of engaging others that inspires action and delivers results. Her approach is rooted in serving communities, humility, honesty, and integrity with a commitment to building long-lasting partnerships and relationships.

Jillian is the Director of Professional Talent at Cox and Palmer and oversees all aspects of their professional talent program for law students, law clerks, and associate lawyers. She leads with a focus on attracting and retaining top legal professionals through coaching, leadership, mentorship, recruitment, performance management, learning and development. Prior to joining Cox & Palmer in 2022, Jillian served as Vice-President and Managing Partner at Gerald Walsh Associates, a human resources firm in Halifax, NS. that provided human resource advisory services for public sector clients. Before Gerald Walsh Associate’s, she held Director positions leading large scale human resource transformational projects to include Workplace Modernization and Attracting and Retaining Top Talent for the Regional Municipality of Peel in Brampton, ON.

Jillian has received the Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation from CPHR NS, holds a Marts of Arts in Leadership from the University of Guelph, a Master Certificate in Public Management from York University and a certificate in Adult Education from Dalhousie University. Jillian is licensed and certified to deliver emotional intelligence assessments (EQ-i2.0 & EQ360) for individuals and teams through EI Advantage and holds a Respect and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the Canadian Diversity Initiative. She is certified in Change Management through Prosci Inc and is a certified Executive Coach through the Certified Coaches Federation. Jillian holds a Registered Professional Recruiter designation from the Institute of Professional Management and a Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification through the Canadian Payroll Association.
