Dr. Petra Woehrle is a registered psychologist who provides individual and group psychotherapy to adolescent and adult clients. Petra works collaboratively with her clients to create evidence-based treatment plans to address a broad range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder and interpersonal difficulties. Her diverse clinical and training experiences includes wilderness therapy programs located in Tennessee, Georgia, and Oregon, university health centers (The Pennsylvania State University and The University of Minnesota) and public mental health centers (The Emily Program in Minneapolis, St Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN).
Petra has a specialization in health psychology; she spent several years providing treatment to patients with eating disorders in the capacity of post-doctoral fellow, licensed psychologist, and lead clinician. She was a member of the treatment team at St Luke’s Hospital Cancer Center where she helped patients cope with the psychological challenges that accompany chronic health conditions; Petra has experience treating co-occurring disorders including chronic pain, insomnia, and adjustment to illness/disability.
Petra completed a PhD in Counselling Psychology through the Pennsylvania State University and a M. Ed. In Counselling from Acadia University. Petra has a strong interest in program evaluation and development, and is active in a number of research initiatives focused on improving program and patient outcomes.
