Lawrence Peyton is a student counselling therapist completing his practicum in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. He has received specialized training in Emotions-Focused Therapy (EFT) and is a registered student member with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
Over 23 years of service with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police – being posted throughout the country in general duties policing, federal operations, and as the non-commissioned officer in charge of a regional firearms specialist team – has engrained Lawrence’s “I have your six” approach to public safety personnel and veterans. As the host and producer of a podcast about PTSD, he was bestowed the 2024 Darius Garda Legacy Award.
Lawrence is passionate about working with and walking beside clients struggling with trauma, operational stress injuries, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem, relationships, and existential fears. With a client-centred and strengths-based approach that is founded upon collaboration, Lawrence focuses on establishing safety and trust while helping clients navigate distress and personal challenges.
