Influenced by his work in medical anthropology, Brett brings a distinct sensitivity to the impact that social norms, social exclusion, gender, and culture have on human development and experience. With more than 15 years of experience working with those impacted by substance use, trauma, and social marginilization, Brett helps those he works with cultivate deeper self-comapssion, helping them to place their stories and experiences in larger contexts, and by helping to align their lives with greater meaning, belonging, and community. he also has an extensive background in group facilitation, having led mindfulness groups, groups oriented to substance use and addictions, and men’s groups focused on masculinity.
